He left school at the age of 16.
He had lost four jobs at the age of 17.
He was married at the age of 18.
He was a train driver between the ages of 18 and 22 and struggled.
He joined the army and washed out there.
He applied for the school of law, he was fired.
He became a seller of insurance and again struggled.
He became a father at the age of 19.
His wife left him at the age of 20 and took the baby's daughter.
In a small café, he became a chef and a dishwasher.
In an attempt to kidnap his own son, he failed and finally convinced his mother to return home.
He retired at 65 years of age.
He got a government check for $105 on the 1st day of retirement.
Felt the government was saying he was unable to provide for himself.
He decided to #commit suicide, life was no longer worth living; so much had he lost.
He sat down writing his will under a tree, but instead he wrote what his life would have #achieved. Knew there was a lot that he hadn't done yet. But he could do one thing better than anyone he met. And it was cooking and baking!
And he borrowed $87 from his check and purchased and using his recipe, he fried some chicken and went door to door and sold them to his Kentucky neighbours.
Note he was willing to commit suicide at the age of 65.
